Common questions

How do I log my first recipe?

Add a bean (and a drink), then tap “Log a recipe” from either one. Record your grind, dose, yield, temperature, time, tasting notes, and a rating — the brew ratio is calculated for you. Brew it again later with one tap using “Repeat this brew.”

Where is my data stored?

Everything stays on your device. Coffee Journal doesn’t require an account and never uploads your beans, drinks, recipes, or photos to a server.

How do I add photos of my beans or drinks?

Tap the photo area when adding a bean or drink and choose “Take Photo” or “Choose from Library.” The camera option appears on devices that have a camera.

Which devices are supported?

Coffee Journal is built for iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
